Star Wars Actress Daisy Ridley Rejects Reylo: “I Can’t Really Get Behind It…In a Personal Way”
Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley roundly rejected the Reylo movement during Star Wars Celebration over the past weekend.
During an interview, Ridley was asked about if she knew about Reylo and if she was a supporter.
Ridley responded:
“I do know about Reylo. I don’t know how I feel about it because everyone is talking about the toxic thing of a relationship when it’s essentially emotional. It’s a tricky road.”
She would add:
“I do feel like deep down Kylo thinks what he is doing is right and he doesn’t think he’s wrong. He has also killed so many people. So, I can’t really get behind it. No. In a personal way, you know?”

For those unfamiliar with the Reylo movement it features a group of fans who want to ship Daisy Ridley’s character Rey and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren. They want to see the two characters involved in a deeper, romantic relationship.
However, there is a darker side to the movement as well and it might just be why Ridley says she rejects the Reylo movement from a personal standpoint.
Former DC Comics artist and creator of Cyberfrog Ethan Van Sciver astutely points out that some members of the Reylo movement have taken their fandom outside of the fictional universe of Star Wars and actually want Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver to be an item. In fact, some of these people have even fantasized about Adam Driver’s child being killed, and his wife being arrested.
Watch.
As Van Sciver points out in his video, Twitter user DataRacer discovered a number of hateful comments from people involved in the Reylo movement.
Reylo’s have doxxed Adam Driver and his wife Joanne Tucker. These nuts are called ‘Daivers’ and they want Adam Driver & Daisy Riddly to be a couple in real life.

An entire thread of comments from this past January fantasizes about Adam Driver and his wife Joanne’s child jumping out of a window and falling to his death. The idea is for Joanne to be arrested so Driver will be available to date Ridley.
Another image shows Joanne scratched out from a photo on the red carpet with Adam Driver. While other images show that people in the Reylo movement are hunting down their addresses and their lawyers.
There is in fact an entire subreddit called AdamDriverFans that dives into the personal lives of Adam Driver and his wife Joanne Tucker. A number of users on the subreddit call for Driver to divorce his wife. They believe the two are fighting and a PR firm is manipulating events in order to make Joanne Tucker look good.
Given Ridley said she was aware of Reylo, it’s quite possible her use of the term “toxic” to describe fan behavior was not a mistake. She also makes it clear that she cannot get behind the shipping movement in a “personal way.” This might be her way of condemning the people who are actively fantasizing about the death of Adam Driver’s kid and the ruin of his marriage.
What do you make of Ridley’s comments? What do you think about the Reylo movement? Do you think it is “toxic?”
