Todd MacFarlane Announces Spawn to Join Mortal Kombat 11 – Joker, Terminator, and More Revealed
Spawn creator Todd McFarlane announced his iconic character will be joining the roster for Mortal Kombat 11.
McFarlane took to Twitter to write, “Earthrealm just got a whole lot more dangerous! That’s right folks. Here is the Spawn reveal for Mortal Kombat 11.” The legendary chains that Spawn has used in the comics to rip apart monsters, both man and immortal, guide the viewer to his introduction.

The inclusion of the character was not a surprise since back in December of 2018 McFarlane spilled the beans on Spawn being in the game. It was also reported by Polygon back in March, that Keith David, who voiced Spawn in the HBO animated series, was also returning to voice the character in the game.
Spawn isn’t the only character to join the Mortal Kombat 11 roster. They also confirmed that Mortal Kombat regular Sindel, the Queen of Outworld would be joining the roster. She is joined by Shang Tsung, with the likeness of Japanese actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. Tagawa played Shang Tsung in the 1995 film. Also shown in the video is Nightwolf. Mortal Kombat 11 players know both of these characters are already available in game. They also revealed that Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800 Terminator and Joker will be joining the game.
The Terminator T-800 will arrive in-game on October 8th. Sindel will arrive on November 26. Joker joins the party on January 28, 2020, and Spawn arrives on March 17, 2020.
While seeing Spawn in Mortal Kombat is definitely awesome, the design for Joker doesn’t look really good at all. It’s like they tried to mash up Jack Nicholson’s Joker with Cameron Monaghan’s Jerome from Gotham. The combination looks like an abomination rather than the Joker. This isn’t the first time NeatherRealm has spiced up its roster of fighters for the franchise. Iconic characters such as Jason Voorhees and the Predator joined Mortal Kombat X and spilled a bunch of blood in the tournament.
Currently, if you want this new DLC, it will cost you. Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack is $39.00. If you bought the premium edition of the game, the DLC is included.
What do you think of the Spawn announcement? Will this cause you to buy the DLC if you have the game? And if you haven’t purchased Mortal Kombat 11, will this make you want to grab a copy?
