Rumors about the game began circulating back in October when professional Super Smash Bros. player Juan Manuel “Hungrybox” DeBiedma claimed he received information about the game.

He added, “Free to Play, Cross Console play, Voice acting for all characters.”

DeBiedma then added that Batman and Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty would be playable.

In a follow-up, DeBiedma shared a screenshot showing off more of the roster including Harley Quinn, Superman, Wonder Woman, Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, Shaggy, and others.

Well, DeBiedma’s claims have now been confirmed as Warner Bros. announced via a press release that the game is indeed titled MultiVersus, it’s being developed by Player First Games, and it “introduces a team-based 2 vs. 2 format combined with an ever-expanding cast of iconic characters and legendary universes.”

He added, “We are partnering with the talented team at Player First Games to bring together a free-to-play, online platform fighter with a wealth of iconic characters that fans know and love, from Wonder Woman and Bugs Bunny to Shaggy and Arya from Game of Thrones. Warner Bros. details, “The game’s fun filled multiplayer bouts can be set against the backdrop of various reimagined environments from awe-inspiring worlds, such as Batman’s Batcave, Jake and Finn’s Tree Fort and many others.”
