CW’s Black Lightning Casts Christine Adams!

Christine Adams joined the upcoming cast for the pilot of The CW’s “Black Lightning.”

Deadline indicates Adams will play Lynn, the ex-wife of DC Comics superhero Jefferson Piece. She will have a mischievous side, but radiates confidence and intelligence. Also, don’t mess with her family, she doesn’t tolerate that one bit.

Adams joins Cress Williams, who will take on the title role of Black Lightning and Jefferson. “Black Lightning” also casted Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain to play Jennifer Pierce, Lightning, and Anissa Pierce, Thunder. They are Lynn and Jefferson’s daughters.

The pilot will follow Williams’ Black Lightning as he comes out of retirement after his daughter, Jennifer, gets recruited by a local gang.

Adams is no stranger to comic book film making. She appeared on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Agent Weaver and co-starred in Terra Nova. She’s also been in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Tron: Legacy.

Lynn Williams made her first appearance in Black Lightning #3. The character was created by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden. While she was originally married to Jefferson Piece, she divorced him due to his life as a superhero. However, she was still close with him and their two daughters even visiting them in the hospital.

“Black Lightning” will be produced by Greg Berlanti, Mara Brock Akil, and Salim Akil. The pilot is written by both Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil. It will be directed by Salim Akil. A filming date, let alone an airing date has yet to be released.
