Sony Pictures gave us their scheduled release date for their upcoming Spider-Man spinoff movie Silver & Black. The film will hit theaters on February 8, 2019 according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The story will star Spider-Man characters Silver Sable and Black Cat. It will be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. It joins Sony’s Venom¬†starring Tom Hardy, which will be released just four months earlier in October 2018.

Not only will Silver & Black feature Silver Sable and Black Cat, but it will also star Mendell Stromm, Tarantula, and Scorpion. No casting information has been released as of yet. Rumors indicate they are seeking two young actresses in their twenties. This indicates whoever takes on the roles of Black Cat and Silver Sable may show up in further Sony movies within their Spider-Man universe they are creating.

However, rumored plot details did leak earlier this month detailing Mendell Stromm’s hunt for Black Cat to recover an enhancement he gave the Spider-Man antihero. Silver Sable seeking vengeance on Stromm teams up with government forces in order to track down Black Cat in the hopes of leading her close to Stromm.

Production on Silver & Black is expected to start this fall.
