Samuel L. Jackson Confirms: No Nick Fury In Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Or Avengers 4

Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will be taking a seat on the sidelines for a number of Marvel’s upcoming big time movies including Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, and the as of yet untitled Avengers 4.

Jackson confirmed the absence of Nick Fury in an interview with Yahoo Movies UK:

I wasn’t in the ‘superhero argument’ movie [‘Captain America: Civil War’], I’m not in ‘Avengers 3 and 4’. They’re shooting them now, and they haven’t called me yet. They wouldn’t let me go to ‘Black Panther’-ville, so it’s kinda like how you gonna make a black Marvel movie and not let Nick Fury show up in it?!

While it appears Nick Fury won’t be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, or Avengers 4, he is rumored to be playing a pretty large role in Captain Marvel.

During last month’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that Nick Fury would return with both eyes in tact for the upcoming Captain Marvel movie set in the 1990s. However, before Feige noted Fury would return, Jackson told Yahoo, “I haven’t signed a contract, haven’t seen a script.” Jackson continued, “I talked to Brie [Larson] the other day, she didn’t say anything. She’s the only person I know that’s actually in the movie.”

It’s possible they are still working through contract negotiations, but it does seem odd that the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s top spy and the man who organized the Avengers would be absent from their greatest threat yet. Jackson could also be trying to use some good old Jedi mind tricks in order to make us think he won’t be appearing. Screen Rant previously reported Jackson had been added to the Avengers: Infinity War set in Scotland.

Would Nick Fury just disappear when Thanos comes calling? Wasn’t the whole point of weaponizing the Tesseract to combat foes like Thanos? Do you think Samuel L. Jackson is using his skills as Nick Fury to spread misinformation in order to take Thanos by surprise in Avengers: Infinity War?
