Syfy’s Krypton cast Shaun Sipos to play the role of Adam Strange. Krypton will take place on Superman’s home planet two generations before it is tragically destroyed.
The show will follow Superman’s grandfather who attempts to restore the House of El’s honor and legacy after it is ostracized and shamed. It will also feature a plot to eliminate Superman before he’s born.
In a report from Deadline, Adam Strange is described as “a world-weary human, who finds himself stranded on Krypton as the unlikely mentor to Seg-El, Superman’s grandfather.”
Adam Strange first debuted back in the 1950s in Showcase #17. Strange wears a jet pack allowing him to fly through space and uses his trusty ray gun to defend himself. He also wields an advanced suit that has given him a number of abilities. While he was originally born on Earth he was transported to the planet Rann via a Zeta beam. While on Rann, he became the planet’s protector fending off a number of alien threats using only his skill and wits.
Shaun Sipos is no stranger to Syfy. He made seven appearances on Dark Matter as Devon Taltherd. He also appeared on Vampire Diaries as Aaron Whitmore. He also starred as David Breck on Melrose Place. He’s also expected to be Wyatt in The Sandman.
Sipos joins Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Ian McElhinney, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, and Aaron Pierre.
