EXCLUSIVE: What Happened To The Ninjak VS. The Valiant Universe Trailer? Valiant CEO Dinesh Shamdasani Tells All!

Valiant has been building their live-action digital series for more than a year now. We first got a glimpse of Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe back at New York Comic Con 2016. We hadn’t heard a lot since then, but just last month Valiant promised a new Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe trailer would drop on August 28 nearly a month ago. They teased out a number of sneak peeks for the trailer throughout the week leading up to August 28th. However, we still haven’t seen the trailer.

We caught up with Valiant Entertainment CEO Dinesh Shamdasani to get an update on where the project stands and if we will get to see the trailer anytime soon.

Dinesh explained that Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe is a “six-part web promotion that we are doing.” He then dropped some huge news that Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe is actually promoting a brand new comic book series aptly titled, Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe.

Dinesh then elaborated about the number of problems they have run into while creating the web promotion. “We’ve run into countless problems on this show and come up with solutions for the first time. We were doing really well with the trailer and we hit a snag and unfortunately it meant we had to take a couple weeks.”

While they might have had to delay the trailer release it does appear the show is still on schedule and they used the time to even improve the trailer and the show.

“We are back on schedule now, everything is great. In fact, we took the time to do a whole color correction pass of the entire show. It looks incredible!”

Dinesh played coy about when we could expect to see the show released. However he did confirm they will announce the release date at New York Comic Con. He did tell us it would be “this year and sooner than you think.”

It’s highly likely the show will drop sometime in November given all of the buzz that month will have for other comic book properties. Both Justice League and Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters in November. Not only will those two mega properties be dominating the box office, but The Punisher will also be debuting on Netflix sometime in November.

Dinesh even hinted at a November release, “Ninja-K #1 comes out in November it would be smart for us to line that up. We got a Ninjak vs comic book coming out in January, it would be smart to come out right after the show. It feels like a good time to do it.”
