AMC Theaters has released an exclusive IMAX trailer for the upcoming Pacific Rim Uprising movie. The trailer is jam packed with action and of course features the iconic Jaeger suits as they do battle against even more monstrous and vicious Kaiju than the first film.

The trailer shows off a number of high action clips and some might think the trailer gives too much away.

One thing is definitely clear is that the Kaiju are back, but a brief clip appears to show how they return. There are a number of what appear to be Jaeger’s standing in a circle shooting energy beams into the ocean. My best guess, is that they are reopening the portal to allow the Kaiju entry into our world. In fact, the next clip still appears to show the energy beams firing into what is now a giant hole on the ocean floor. You can see a giant Kaiju claw reach up onto the edge.

The trailer then goes into full-on action mode. There are plenty of scenes of Jaeger’s fighting Kaiju with all different types of weapons and styles. You’ve got Jaeger’s with whips and others with escrima sticks. And while the Jaeger’s have brand new looks so do the Kaiju. There’s a cat like Kaiju that faces down the Jaeger with the escrima sticks. They’ve adapted and brought their own weapons to the fore, so it would make sense the Jaeger’s would also have to adapt to these new Kaiju.

But it looks like the biggest foe will be this monstrous Kaiju that will require a team of Jaeger’s to defeat it. However, this monstrous Kaiju is not the only threat. There are also a couple of clips where Jaeger’s are fighting each other. It’s possible these Jaeger battles occur because one of them decided to reopen the portal to allow the Kaiju to return.

One thing is for sure, Pacific Rim Uprising is promising a ton of action. And who can say no to that?

Pacific Rim Uprising comes to theaters on March 23, 2018. The film stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Adria Arjona, Tian Jing, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Burn Gorham.
