Directors Joe and Anthony Russo Tease Captain Marvel for Avengers: Infinity War

Captain Marvel

The rumor mill is churning when it comes to Captain Marvel’s appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.

We previously reported Captain Marvel would not be showing up in Avengers: Infinity War based off a quote from co-director Joe Russo who stated, “She is not in Avengers 3.”

However, a new quote from Joe Russo indicates Captain Marvel will actually show up in Avengers: Infinity War.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight (seen above) at the 5:45 mark, Joe Russo says Captain Marvel will actually show up in Avengers: Infinity War.

“We have some great female characters in this. Captain Marvel is in it. Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, we have Wakanda is coming in. There’s a whole group of characters that are coming from the Wakanda universe, the Black Panther universe. Amazingly strong characters, strong-willed characters. And we have the Guardians. Two of the Guardians are daughters of Thanos so there is a really strong connection to the main villain of the story. I think you will see in the film they are very pivotal to the story line and I think the arcs are fantastic. We are really, really proud to introduce Captain Marvel in this one.”

This seems to indicate we will see Captain Marvel showing up in Avengers: Infinity War especially since he mentions her not only once, but twice.

However, while the interview was recently released it’s more than likely it was done while they were still filming the movie. In fact, the Russo brothers mention they are returning to the set. It’s possible Captain Marvel might have originally been planned to be involved in Captain Marvel, but might have been either written or edited out during the process of making the film.

It’s also possible Captain Marvel will show up in Avengers: Infinity War. Another explanation could be they aren’t specifically referencing Avengers: Infinity War, but may be referencing Avengers 4. Although that doesn’t seem to fully add up because he does say “introduce.”

Captain Marvel is supposed to be released on March 6, 2019 while Avengers 4 is expected to come out on May 3, 2019.

Do you think we will see Captain Marvel in Avengers: Infinity War? Or will she not show up until her full-length feature film Captain Marvel.
