San Diego Comic-Con: Aquaman Collectibles Give Us First Look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman Costume!

Aquaman

DC Films’ upcoming Aquaman movie is inching closer and closer to its December release date. And as we get closer we are finding out more and more about the film. The latest bit of information reveals at least three brand new DC Collectibles featuring Aquaman, Black Manta, and Mera.

These collectibles give us our first real look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman in what looks to be a very classic outfit. DC had previously released photos and posters showing Momoa’s Aquaman in a much bulkier outfit with shoulder pads. This one is much more streamlined and looks very much like the character’s iconic look.

We haven’t really seen much of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta besides the Entertainment Weekly photo showing him looking at a Black Manta prototype helm. With this new look we get a 360 degree shot of the outfit as it comes equipped with a sword, a retractable dagger, and what looks like a jet propulsion device on his back.

Finally, we get a look at Mera’s costume. Her red hair is flowing backwards as she wears the classic blue one piece suit Mera is known for. Given this toy matches up with the photos released by DC through Entertainment Weekly showing Amber Heard’s Mera in her full suit it’s safe to say we will see the Aquaman and Black Manta suits in the film as well.

The images and videos were initially posted on the DC Collectibles YouTube page, but have subsequently been pulled down. However, you can take a look at the below.

Black Manta’s suit looks absolutely perfect. He’s got the retractable blade as well as the sword in his right hand. If this is what we see on the big screen, it’s safe to say James Wan and company nailed the costume.

The Aquaman suit looks like it came straight out of the comic page.

All three of these collectibles stand 12″ high. They are expected to hit shelves beginning November 2018.

What do you think about these new designs? Are you excited to see Aquaman?

Aquaman hits theaters on December 21, 2018.
