Godzilla unleashes mayhem and chaos in the brand new trailer for Toho’s animated Godzilla film, Godzilla: Monster Planet.
The trailer runs for a total of 75 seconds, but its jam packed with suspense and action. While we only get a few short clips of Godzilla, they are impressive. The monster Kaiju is just that he’s a behemoth. Not only does he tower over the skyscrapers, but his mass is just huge. He’s bulky, big and strong.
While the trailer doesn’t have any English subtitles, it showcases some exceptionally gorgeous artwork.
From the opening scene with the child holding a flower to the shot of him looking up into the sky – you are drawn in. You can feel the intensity, the danger, the tension in less than five seconds.
Along with the trailer Toho gave us a look at their first movie poster for Godzilla: Monster Planet. The poster captures the enormity of Godzilla and the determination of those who will face him.
Godzilla: Monster Planet begins in the last summer of the 20th century where humans learn of the existence of Kaiju and the one that destroys all monsters, Godzilla. They’ve fought the kaiju for nearly half a century, always ending in defeat. However, their ingenuity has pushed them to escape Earth. Unfortunately, their plan to escape Earth hits a major setback as their destined planet becomes uninhabitable for humans. Now, Haruo, who saw Godzilla kill his parents at the age of 4 leads a group of “Earth Returnists” back to Earth. But when they return 20,000 years have passed and Godzilla now reigns supreme. Will Haruo and humans be able to reclaim Earth?
