Avengers: Infinity War Trailer Reveals First Look at Thanos’ Black Order!
The brand new Avengers: Infinity War trailer gives us our first look at Thanos’ fearsome Black Order which includes Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, the Ebony Maw, and Cull Obsidian. It also appears Loki might be apart of the Black Order as he stands alongside them.
You can see Proxima Midnight to the left with her spear in hand. Beside her is Loki played by Tom Hiddleston. Next to Loki is the Ebony Maw. Then we have Corvus Glaive with his mystical glaive in hand, and finally towering above everyone is Cull Obsidian.
While at first glance Loki appears to be part of the Black Order, if you look closely at Proxima Midnight she appears to be pointing her spear directly at Loki in case he makes any sudden movements.
Kevin Feige revealed at Comic Con 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil that Loki would side with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. We saw the trickster god give up the Space Stone in the first trailer and in the most recent trailer we just saw Thanos crush it in his hands to get to the actual Space Stone found within it. And there’s good reason for Loki to side with Thanos because as always Loki is looking out for himself. If you remember from The Avengers, a being known as The Other who speaks for Thanos tells Loki:
“If you fail, if the Tesseract is kept from us, there will be no realm no barren moon, no crevice where we cannot find you. You think you know pain? He will make you long for something as sweet as pain.”
Those words actually might have more meaning than we initially thought because the barren moon could actually be a reference to Thanos’ home planet of Titan. It would add an even greater weight to the already imposing threat laid out to Loki.
And while we got a good look at the full Black Order, we would get an even closer look at the Ebony Maw as he tortures Doctor Strange in what I can only assume is to ascertain the location of the Time Stone.
The torture scene shows just how powerful the Ebony Maw if he is able to bring the great Doctor Strange to his knees.
Which member of the Black Order are you looking forward to see the most? Do you think Loki will try and double cross Thanos?
It’s more than likely we will get to see much more of the Black Order in action when Avengers: Infinity War comes to theaters on April 27, 2018.
