A new report indicates Kevin Feige attended the Produced By Conference hosted by the Producers Guild.

The report comes out of Digital LA, who appeared to have live Tweeted Feige’s appearance on stage where he discussed the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what is to come following Avengers 4.

As far as how Marvel Studios finds the talent for their movies, Feige said they look for people “who have a unique point of view, have something to say, and surround them with people with experience making movies.”

Feige would go on to talk about “diversity” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He noted, “It’s something that is necessary to continue to tell stories. You don’t want to look around the room and see everybody looks like you. It is detrimental to the project.”

He also added that Marvel will be adding female directors in the next 20 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Interestingly enough, Feige notes that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not only be expanding through film, but will also expand through “merch, toys, and theme parks to expand the universe.” He notes they are “all part of the world building. It’s fun.”

As far as what we can expect for after Avengers 4, Feige once again confirmed they appear to be working on the a Khamala Khan version of Ms. Marvel.

However, the biggest reveal was when Feige revealed that upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films will see “different incarnations of characters you know.” He also revealed they will be continuing stories of characters we’re family with, and they will also be introducing new characters you might not have heard of.

Given this reveal, it’s possible Marvel Studios might actually follow down the path of Marvel Comics and introduce replacement characters for Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, and the Hulk.

In the comics, Marvel has seen a number of characters take on the title of Captain America from Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier) to Sam Wilson (Falcon). Thor was recently replaced by his lover Jane Foster, but there have been other characters who have wielded Mjolnir including Beta Ray Bill. Iron Man was recently put into a coma by Captain Marvel and saw Doctor Doom replace him as Iron Man. Marvel also introduced Riri Williams who became the hero Ironheart. Finally, Bruce Banner was replaced as the Hulk after he was assassinated by Hawkeye. Amadeus Cho would become Totally, Awesome Hulk.

What do you make of Feige’s reveal about the future of Avengers 4? Do you think is a good idea for Marvel Studios to pursue?
