Avengers 4 Actors Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Others Team with Anti-Gun Activists David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez
Avengers 4 actors Chadwick Boseman, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, and Mark Ruffalo were joined by Marvel TV’s Rosario Dawson and X-Men: First Class’ Zoe Kravitz and March for Our Lives activists David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez for a get out the vote video.
You can take a look:
Today is our first #TurnoutTuesday! Knock on 25 doors in your community and help them register to vote! Plus voting feels great. Just ask these guys ↓ pic.twitter.com/8yQOR4preA

The video is pretty cringeworthy, it takes clips of the actors and activists making sexual metaphors to voting. To speak plainly, some of it is just plain creepy. Mark Ruffalo rambles about, “I mean I didn’t know how to, how to, how to do it.” Then Boseman continues, “Where to put it. You know, where to slide it in.” And there’s much worse. Chris Evans talks about his first time with a woman in 2016. “It felt good, but it ended badly.”
The video specifically calls for millennials to register to vote. And accompanying the video they ask people to not only register to vote themselves, but to go door to door and “knock on 25 doors in your community and help them register to vote.”
March For Our Lives advocates for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to research gun violence as a public health issue. They also call for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to increase regulations and interference with gun owners and dealers. They specifically call for the ATF to require gun dealers to conduct inventory checks every year. They also want universal background checks even for private sales between individuals.
They want a ban on high-capacity magazines. They specifically want all magazines that hold more than 10 rounds banned. They believe these magazines have only one purpose: “to allow someone to shoot as many bullets as possible, in the shortest amount of time.” They also want a semi-automatic rifle ban. Their ban would prohibit “the future production and sale of these weapons and provides a solution for dealing with those semi-automatic assault rifles that are already owned, such as a buyback program or registration.” In case, you are unaware this would ban a significant portion of hunting rifles.
YouTuber Aargo Jay explains why banning semi-automatic rifles is a terrible idea.
March for Our Lives also wants the government to fund intervention programs that “address the root causes of this violence.” They don’t offer any specific solutions. They want to implement extreme risk protection orders that will allow the government to remove someone’s gun if their family believes they “pose a risk of harm to self or others.” They also want to take guns away from all domestic abusers. They specifically want dating partner abusers, individuals convicted of stalking, and those subject to a temporary restraining order to no longer be able to posses guns. They also want to make the surrender of guns mandatory for prohibited users.
Finally, they want the government to pass laws requiring specific storage practices and mandatory theft reporting.
So, while the video might be an innocent get out the vote video, it’s definitely being used to push an agenda. I think it’s safe to assume that these Avengers 4 actors by partnering with March for Our Lives are advocating for the same policies that March for Our Lives is advocating for. It’s actually ironic given all of these actors play heroes on the big screen who use deadly weapons. In fact, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson specifically use rifles while playing Captain America and Black Widow.
What do you think about this video? Will this effect whether or not you see Avengers 4? Will the video get you to register to vote?
