SyFy announced they will adapt Dark Horse Comics, Peter Hogan, and Steve Parkhouse’s Resident Alien.

In fact, SyFy announced they picked up the series that will star Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, and Levi Fiehler.

Here’s the official description:

RESIDENT ALIEN is a twisted and comedic fish-out-of-water story that follows a crash-landed alien named Harry (Alan Tudyk) who, after taking on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor, slowly begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his secret mission on Earth — ultimately asking the question, “Are human beings worth saving?”

The series is being adapted by Family Guy’s Chris Sheridan alongside Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. They will be joined Amblin TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank who will executive produce. David Dobkin who directed the pilot episode will also executive produce.

Resident Alien, created by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, debuted in May of 2012. The series consists of five separate volumes with each volume being four issues long. The most recent volume, Resident Alien: An Alien in New York wrapped up in July of last year. The series follows an alien, who finds himself stranded on Earth. He takes on the identity of Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle and eventually finds himself in the center of a murder mystery!

The series is expected to go in to production in Vancouver this summer.
