At Marvel’s red carpet premiere for Captain Marvel, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) boss Kevin Feige confirmed that Stan Lee will have a cameo in an upcoming Marvel Film.

And he wasn’t talking about the cameo in Captain Marvel.

“It became a national holiday when he was around on set, up through this movie and an upcoming one as well.”

He wasn’t specific about what movie he’d be in, but we’re pretty sure he’s talking about Avengers: Endgame. We’ve had reports that Stan Lee filmed for a number of cameos before his passing last November. It’s also probable he’ll probably have one in Spider-Man: Far From Home since the filming happened while he was still with us.

Stan Lee Already Filmed a Bunch of Cameos

Captain Marvel director Anna Boden talked about the cameo in Captain Marvel at a London red carpet premiere:

“We did want to kind of have a moment to tribute Stan Lee in this movie, obviously. It was something that came from Marvel and when they showed it to us, like, there was not a dry eye in the house. It was really emotional.”

We can only speculate that the conclusion of the three phases in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Endgame will have an equally emotional tribute to Stan. And we’ve also had reports that Lee was filmed for the cameo in Avengers: Endgame before November of last year.

Director Joe Russo spoke to BBC Radio Scotland about Lee’s upcoming appearance in the film:

“So, Stan, typically we try to get him out – he doesn’t love to fly – so we try to get him out for his cameos around the same time. So if we have other movies on the same lot that we’re on, for instance Ant-Man 2 and Avengers 4, we group his cameos together and then move him from one set to the next and kind of get him through his cameos in one day.”

Kevin Feige was keeping things close to the chest when speaking to Variety about these cameos:

“I’m not going to tell you what specifically, but Stan always appreciated a good surprise.”

Captain Marvel premieres March 8th. Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26th. Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out in theaters July 5th.
