DC Universe released their first teaser trailer for Swamp Thing and it oozes creepiness.

Along with this first teaser, DC Universe released an official description for the television show:

“SWAMP THING follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.”

The show is based off the DC Comics characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. The character of Alec Holland first appeared in [easyazon_link identifier=”1401273785″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Swamp Thing #1[/easyazon_link] in November 1972. However, the original Swamp Thing first appeared in [easyazon_link identifier=”B001HDZVTY” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]House of Secrets #92[/easyazon_link] in 1971.

The show stars Andy Bean as Alec Holland, Derek Mears as Swamp Thing, Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane, Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland, Henderson Wade as Matt Cable, Will Patton as Avery Sunderland, and Maria Sten as Liz Tremayne.

As seen in the teaser above, Swamp Thing will debut on May 31st on the DC Universe streaming service and will debut new episodes weekly.
