Cast and Writers Revealed for James Bond 25 Includes Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Jeffrey Wright, and More!

After quite a few delays and director changes, the James Bond franchise revealed quite a few details about the upcoming Bond 25 film including the cast as well as the writers. They did it all from Ian Fleming’s villa in Jamaica, where he wrote all of the James Bond novels.

First off, they confirmed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge had been brought on to write the 25th James Bond film. She is joined by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Scott Z. Burns.

DailyMail had reported earlier this month that Phoebe Waller-Bridge had been brought onto the film to give it a “makeover for the MeToo era.” They reported that the film could feature an old James Bond who has retired and is living in Jamaica. They note the 007 moniker is given to a woman and on one of her missions, Bond is forced to come out of retirement.

The idea of part of the film taking place in Jamaica was confirmed. In fact, the movie will film in Jamaica, Norway, London, and Italy. Director Cary Joji Fukunaga did state they had already filmed in Norway due to the weather hinting their might be some snow in Bond’s future.

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli would also confirm that “Bond is not on active service when we start the film. He is actually enjoying himself in Jamaica. We consider Jamaica, Bond’s spiritual home. He starts his journey here and we’ve built an extraordinary house for him.”

The cast for the film will see a number of returning actors including Daniel Craig as James Bond, Ralph Fiennes as M, Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, and Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter.

They also announced a number of newcomers including Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, and Rami Malek.

Malek confirmed he would be playing one of the Bond villains stating, “I promise you all Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing.”

What do you make of the cast and the writers? What about Broccoli’s details about Bond being out of service and living the life in Jamaica?
