The former manager of Stan Lee, Keya Morgan, has been charged with five counts of  elder abuse that include false imprisonment, fraud, and forgery.

Reuters reports a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Superior Court public information office indicated an arrest warrant had been issued for Keya Morgan.

In June of last year, Morgan was arrested on suspicion for filing a false report.

Stan Lee’s daughter, J.C., would accuse the former manager of elder abuse. The Daily Beast’s Mark Ebner would state Morgan had been claiming he had been with Stan Lee for 10 years and that it was J.C. who was committing elder abuse against Stan Lee. However, J.C. disputed that claim in an interview with Ebner, “No. He was with him for six months—that period of time. And a year or two before.”

In the same interview, Stan Lee would go on to comment about Morgan last October, “As Joanie says, he was with me for about six months. I found out that he wasn’t really what I signed on for. So, I let him go.” When asked about whether or not Morgan was making the accusations against his daughter, Stan responded, “I don’t know that he was. But it wouldn’t surprise me, no.”

Lee elaborated on his relationship with Morgan:

“He was Sir Galahad… He was a guy helping me. I can’t do everything. I thought he’d maybe help J.C. It didn’t work. In fact, he turned out to be quite a disappointment. I think he was wanted by the police, but I’m not sure.”

Lee would also address a video where Stan Lee told Keya Morgan that J.C.’s lawyer Kirk Schenk was giving her drugs and was a bad influence.

“Well, I heard that he had been saying things against her. But that doesn’t surprise me, because there is so much of that happening in Hollywood. When you stop working for somebody, you can have an unfriendly misalliance.”

Reuters also indicates that Morgan “accused of seizing control of Lee’s Hollywood Hills home and hiring security guards with orders to keep away relatives and associates before moving the comic book creator to an unfamiliar condominium.”

Stan Lee passed away at the age of 94 in November 2018.
