Wonder Woman 1984 Director Patty Jenkins Debuts First Poster – Showcases Gal Gadot in New Golden Armor!

Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins just shared the first poster for the upcoming film starring Gal Gadot.

Jenkins updated fans noting Warner Bros. won’t have a Hall H presentation this year and that the official Wonder Woman 1984 campaign won’t begin until this December. But she shared with us the first poster and one can expect we will be getting more tidbits throughout the year.

Take a look.

And here’s a better look:

Actress Gal Gadot echoed Patty Jenkins stating, “I cannot wait to share #WW84 with you all!! Until then we thought you might want to see this.”

Wonder Woman 1984 will see Gal Gadot reprise her role as Wonder Woman. The film will also see Chris Pine return as Steve Trevor despite his apparent death in the first Wonder Woman film.

A report indicates that Trevor is able to return to the land of the living and look like he hasn’t aged a day despite around 40 years passing due to the machinations of the villainous Maxwell Lord, who might be played by Pedro Pascal.

In order to combat Cheetah, Lord seeks the help of Wonder Woman who uses one of his artifacts to resurrect Steve Trevor.

Alongside Gadot, Pine, and possibly Pedro Pascal will be Kirsten Wiig as long-time Wonder Woman foe Cheetah.

Rumors indicate Cheetah will see her comic book origin tweaked as she will become the iconic villain by the granting of a wish to become more like Wonder Woman whom she looks up to. However, others point to the fact that she might be cursed by ancient artifact.

My colleague J.B. Augustine speculates this change could be to distinguish the character from Suicide Squad’s June Moon, who had a similar origin to Barbara Ann Minerva aka Cheetah’s comic book origin.

A set video showcased just how agile Wiig’s Cheetah will be.

A separate set video also teased that Gal Gadot and Wonder Woman might be flying around in her iconic Invisible Jet.

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on June 5, 2020.

Director Patty Jenkins previously indicated she was frustrated by the new release date because she can’t wait to show audiences Wonder Woman 1984
