Sonic the Hedgehog Actor Jim Carrey: “Impeach This Animal”

Sonic the Hedgehog actor Jim Carrey recently took to Twitter to call for Nancy Pelosi to “impeach this animal” referring to President Donald Trump.

Carrey described President Trump as both a “gremlin” and an “animal” when he wrote on Twitter:

“Hey, Nancy Pelosi: There’s something on the wing! Some THING! You may wanna grit your teeth and cross your fingers while this gremlin rips the engines apart – but the rest of us want to live.

START THE HEARINGS!
IMPEACH THIS ANIMAL!!”

He included a painting of a sharp-toothed Donald Trump tearing up the wing of a spaceship or airplane as Nancy Pelosi looks away. The painting appears to be a reference to the Twilight Zone episode Nightmare at 20,000 Feet starring Star Trek icon William Shatner.

Carrey stars as the evil villain Doctor Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik in the upcoming live-action version of Sonic the Hedgehog. (Related: James Marsden and Jim Carrey Speed to Life in the First Sonic The Hedgehog Trailer!)

The actor is no stranger to controversial tweets accompanying his paintings. He’s made it part of his repertoire. Back in March he showed off a painting where he gave Lori Loughlin an F in reference to the college cheating scandal. Carrey recently took aim at Senator Mitch McConnell writing, “10,000 gun deaths in 2019 and the year is far from over. What Osama bin Laden did to us was terrible but he doesn’t hold a candle to Mitch McConnell.”

He also refereed to the pro-life Covington Catholic High School students as “baby snakes.”
