Alleged Sonic the Hedgehog Redesign Leaks
An alleged redesign of Sonic the Hedgehog for the upcoming movie has leaked.
Following the release of the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film starring Jim Carrey, fans expressed their distaste for the design of Sonic the Hedgehog. And distaste is probably an understatement as a number of fans were telling director Jeff Fowler and Paramount Pictures to burn it with fire.

Fowler took the fan feedback to heart and announced they would be redesigning Sonic. He wrote on Twitter.
“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be.”

Here’s a better look at the two images:
However, it’s unclear if this is actually from Paramount and Fowler.
Ryan from Tails’ Channel reports the original user who posted the image indicated they got it from a friend at Paramount Studios.
The user who apparently obtained these images said they got it from “a friend in [sic] Paramount Studios.” The fans who replied to that comment were unconvinced.

However, he’s skeptical of their authenticity.
I can spot a few inconsistencies as I quickly look through the two images. The quality of these images makes it really hard to thoroughly analyse though.

Nevertheless, he’s still attempting to verify whether the two images are legitimate or not.
I’m going to take a pause from this thread as I work to obtain more information. If you are interested in this developing story, make sure your push notifs are turned on as I will be updating this thread overnight. Ryan out.

Fowler has not posted on Twitter since announcing the new release date for Sonic the Hedgehog.
The film stars James Marseden as Tom Wchowski, Jim Carrey, as Dr. Robotnik, and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog.
What do you make of this alleged new redesign? Do you think it’s an improvement over the original?
