John Krasinski Responds To Fantastic Four And Reed Richards Rumors
A Quiet Place actor John Krasinski responded to rumors about playing Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four, giving Marvel fans quite a bit of hope.
Speaking to TotalFilm, Krasinski was honest about what he thought about the fan casting rumors regarding him taking on the iconic role of Reed Richards:
“You’re like, ‘Do you have any interest in not shattering people’s dreams?’ I would love to be in the Marvel universe. I love those movies because they’re fun, but I also think they’re really well done. And certainly a lot of my friends are in those movies. I have no idea what [Marvel] are thinking. But if they are considering me for Mr. Fantastic, continue to consider me because I would love it.”
Krasinski The Actor, The Director
Krasinski’s had quite a few acting roles in the past decade. Most notably as Jim from “The Office” and more recently his role as Jack Ryan in the Tom Clancy television thriller. The internet also remembers Krasinski got in incredible shape for his role in 13 Hours, and more particularly his shirtless scene. Honestly, that’s probably why most folks have considered him for the role. Along with such roles, he had had a bit of directing credits for films he also starred in: A Quiet Place and its upcoming sequel, A Quiet Place 2.
When asked by Total Film if he had any interest in directing a future Marvel film, he admitted his weakness:
“Oh man, directing one of those things? I don’t think I’m your guy. But if I was to act in one? I’d have so much fun.”

Fan Casting Marvel’s First Family
Fans of the Fantastic Four have been keeping a steady eye on Krasinski since his 13 Hours role for the character of Reed Richards. Not to mention giving him a bit of white hair in photoshop edits and fitting him with a blue suit.

Even Marvel Comics artist Russel Dauterman seemed to show his support for Krasinski as Reed Richards. In War of the Realms #3 his Reed Richards appeared to be heavily inspired by Krasinski.
It’s quite possible Marvel could be considering Krasinski. Emily Blunt, Krasinski’s wife and his A Quiet Place co-star, was recently reported to have taken a meeting with Marvel following her role in Disney’s Jungle Cruise. Like Krasinski, fans have shown a desire for Blunt to play Sue Storm of the Fantastic Four.

There was also a rumor from Thomas Polito back in June 2019 that Marvel had approached both Krasinski and Blunt about possible roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As for a Fantastic Four film, one is in development. However, when asked about any details at San Diego Comic Con, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was mum. When asked what story might influence the Marvel Studios film, Feige stated, “All of that is spoilers, but I’m extremely excited about those characters and bringing Marvel’s First Family up sort of to the platform and level they deserve.” He indicated they did not have any casting news either.
