Crunchyroll And Adult Swim Reveal Characters And Cast For Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Includes Jessica Henwick And Josh Duhamel
Crunchyroll and Adult Swim revealed the characters and their cast for the upcoming animated series Blade Runner: Black Lotus.
Back in July 2020, in a video posted to the official Crunchyroll YouTube page, Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama introduce themselves as the co-directors.
They discussed why they chose to animate the series using CG.
Aramaki explained, “Director Watanabe’s ‘Black Out’ was hand-drawn animation. Well, it did have some CG in parts, although it was mainly hand-drawn. But ‘Black Out’ was short – only about 20 minutes.”
“To make this series, we thought about how the key to Blade Runner is its world concept. That mood it has, we felt that expressing that mood was really crucial,” he continued.
Aramaki added, “We wanted to maintain continuity, you could say, in how the Blade Runner world looks and feels.”
The director then concluded, “In terms of portraying the city, too, 3DCG was the way to do that… And we thought it might be entertaining to see animated characters against that backdrop. So, we chose to do it in CG.”
Now, Crunchyroll and Adult Swim have released the character and cast list including both English and Japanese voice actors for the series in a press release.
