Tom Cruise Flies High In Latest Trailer For Top Gun: Maverick

Paramount Pictures released their latest trailer for their upcoming Top Gun: Maverick film and it sees Tom Cruise flying high.

The trailer sees Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell recruited by Val Kilmer’s Admiral Kazansky to train the next group of top ace’s in the Navy.

Not only will he be training this next group of hotshots, but the trailer also shows them preparing to go on a combat mission the likes no one, not even Maverick has seen before.

The trailer has plenty of nostalgia even appearing to include the scene where Maverick races a jet down the runway on his motorcycle from the first movie.

Along with this nostalgia, it includes some personal drama with the inclusion of Nick “Goose” Bradshaw’s son Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw played by Miles Teller.

Jennifer Connelley’s Penny Benjamin appears to be Maverick’s new love interest who will also provide him with moral courage and strength as he deals with this new class of pilots and this dangerous mission they are to undertake.

The official description for the film reads, “After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him.”

It continues, “When he finds himself training a detachment of TOPGUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: ‘Rooster,’ the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka ‘Goose.'”

“Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it,” the description concludes.

The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski based off a screenplay by Ehren Kruger and Eric Warren Singer and Christopher McQuarrie. The story is by Peter Craig and Justin Marks and based off characters created by Jim Crash and Jack Epps, Jr.

McQuarrie produces the film alongside Cruise, Jerry Bruckheimer, and David Ellison. Tommy Harper, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Chad Oman, and Mike Stenson are executive producers.

MILES TELLER PLAYS LT. BRADLEY “ROOSTER” BRADSHAW IN TOP GUN: MAVERICK FROM PARAMOUNT PICTURES, SKYDANCE AND JERRY BRUCKHEIMER FILMS.

The cast includes Cruise, Teller, Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer.

Top Gun: Maverick arrives in theaters on May 27, 2022.
