An adaptation of Netflix and Crunchyroll’s CGI take on Masami Kurumada’s classic manga, Knights of the Zodiac: The Beginning confirmed its theatrical run on March 7th, courtesy of a brand new trailer.

Though composed primarily of shots previously shown in its first preview, the film’s latest trailer does see a new spotlight being shone on The Saints and their armors’ respective powers, ultimately ending with a shot paying homage to Pegasus Seiya and Phoenix Nero’s classic fight.

Intended as to serve as an origin story for the series’ lead protagonist Seiya (Mackenyu, Netflix’s live-action One Piece), Knights of the Zodiac: The Beginning is currently planned as the first of six movies in a live-action Saint Seiya franchise.

While the film’s trailers have left some fans questioning the film’s handling of its source material, director Tomasz Bagiński recently attempted to assuage fans fears by revealing that Kurumada himself had been “involved in several stages of the film”.

“So, when we were reaching certain moments, like key milestones, key moments, we were always asking [him] for his opinion and we had some really really good feedback from Mr. Kurumada,” Bagiński told the Brazil-based Japanese pop culture news site JBOX on February 7th. “[He also gave input on the] Armors, also about the story, and also about how to approach it.”

“But yeah, we were having some consultations with the author, he’d seen the movie, he had some notes,” He added. “We also know what to do in the future if the movie is successful and we know where to go with the armor design.”
