Netflix Announces Second Season Of ‘Castlevania: Nocturne’

Netflix announced a second season for Castlevania: Nocturne is already in production.

The streamer shared to their Netflix Geeked X account, “Castlevania: Nocturne SEASON 2 is OFFICIALLY in production. Thank you to all of the fans – new and returning – who tuned into watch Castlevania: Nocturne. If you still haven’t given the series a try, now’s your moment.”

According to the streamer, the series was the 8th most viewed English language series in its debut week with 9.8 million hours viewed for a total of 2.6 million views.

The series has an abysmal 45% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.

On IMDb the series has a 7.7 out of 10 rating.

The official description states, “France, 1792 – the height of the French Revolution. In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to ‘eat the sun’ and unleash an army of vampires and nightcreatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity.”

“Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance,” it concludes.

The series was created by showrunners Kevin Kolde and Clive Bradley. Bradley was also the creator and writer of the series. It was directed by Sam and Adeam Deats with Project 51 Productions and Powerhouse Animation producing for Netflix.

Other writers on the series include Zodwa Nyoni, Temi Oh, and Testament. The voice cast includes: Edward Bluemel, Thuso Mbedu, Pixie Davies, Sharon D. Clarke, Richard Dormer, Iain Glen, Sydney James Harcourt, Elarica Johnson, Nastassja Kinski, Zahn McClarnon, Aaron Neil, Franka Potente, and Sophie Skelton.
