Marvel Actor Mark Ruffalo Demands Ceasefire In Gaza And Israel: “We’re Not Going To Bomb Our Way To Peace’

Marvel star Mark Ruffalo, also known for his incessant leftist activism, has called for a ceasefire in Gaza amid the ongoing armed conflict between Israel and Palestine terror group Hamas, demanding President Joe Biden to put an end to the attacks.
During an interview with Deadline at the Directors Guild of America Awards, Ruffalo was asked about the badges he was seen wearing before the ceremony.
Pointing to his lapel, the woke actor replied, “This is a peace lily and this is an emblem for Artists 4 Ceasefire,” alluding to the eponymously named organization that calls for “an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel.”
“There’s 1,200 Israelis dead and 27,000 Palestinians,” Ruffalo went on. “We’ve come to understand this bombing isn’t working. We’re not going to bomb our way to peace. And all we’re saying is, you know, what’s wrong with giving ceasefire a chance?”
The actor continued, “We have a million refugees on the border of Rafah right now, who are looking at another bombing surge. And we have 400,000 people starving to death right now without any humanitarian aid being able to get in there.”
“So we are asking the leaders of the world, especially President Biden, to demand a ceasefire — a lasting ceasefire — and give peace a chance instead of just a continued bombing, the escalation of violence, and what will soon become a regional war that America will be dragged into.”
Formed by Hollywood celebrities self-proclaimed advocates, following Hamas’ surprise invasion of Israel in October 7th of last year, the Artists 4 Ceasefire organization claims, “We believe all life is sacred, no matter faith or ethnicity and we condemn the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians.”
The organization’s letter — signed by prominent Hollywood stars such as Andrew Garfield, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum, Kate Blanchett, and Joaquin Phoenix, amongst many more — makes no mention of Hamas or the barbaric crimes they’ve committed.
A similar open letter issued by Artists for Palestine coalition, calling for a Gaza ceasefire following the surprise October 7th invasion last year, was signed by over 3,000 British artists. Tilda Swinton, Steve Coogan, Peter Mullen, and Charles Dance are some of the artists who signed the petition. The letter also fails to make any mention of the Palestinian terrorist group.
“Gaza is already a society of refugees and the children of refugees,” the letter declares. “Now, in their hundreds of thousands, bombarded from air, sea and land, Palestinians whose grandparents were forced out of their homes at the barrel of a gun are again being told to flee – or face collective punishment on an unimaginable scale.”
It later adds, “We support the global movement against the destruction of Gaza and the mass displacement of the Palestinian people. We demand that our governments end their military and political support for Israel’s actions.”
Reuters reports that the Palestinian terror group pushed for the implementation of ceasefire and the exchange of hostages last week, in an effort to put an end to the ongoing armed conflict with Israel.
According to the outlet, Hamas’s proposal includes a “Temporary halt to military operations,” the “Release of Israeli civilian women and children aged 19 or under held hostage in Gaza, as well as all elderly and sick hostages,” as well as “Palestinian women, children, elderly and sick from Israeli jails.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed Hamas’s ceasefire demands as “delusional,” declaring, “The day after is the day after Hamas. All of Hamas,” adding, “Continued military pressure is a necessary condition for the release of the hostages.”
Late in January, Netanyahu stated that the only path to victory was the elimination of the Palestinian terrorist group, asserting, “This is not ‘another round,’ not just exchanges of blows, not just another operation – this is an absolute victory. No less than that.”
“I am committed to it, our soldiers are committed to it, and the absolute majority of the people are committed to it,” the Israeli Prime Minister assured. “We will not settle for anything less than an absolute victory.”
Netanyahu then clarified, “I hear statements about various deals, so I want to make this clear: we will not end this war with anything less than achieving all our goals. This means eliminating Hamas, returning all our captives, and ensuring that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel.”
