Johansson has joined the cast of Jurassic World 4 and being part of a new staple franchise is a big deal for her. She told Comicbook.com, “The script is so incredible…David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He’s so passionate about it, which is so awesome.”

Writer/director Koepp penned the first Jurassic Park film with author Michael Crichton (based on his novel) and its sequel The Lost World. He sat out the last four movies but is returning to the series for the first time in 25 years for a brand-new take.

As an “enormous” fan of Koepp’s work on the original, Johansson says she is excited to be part of something her younger self could appreciate. “It’s one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was like life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.”

She then described herself as a nerd for the franchise. “I’m such an enormous fan of the franchise and huge nerd for it. I’m just like, I can’t even, I’m pinching myself,” Johansson added.

“I’ve been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over 10 years. I’m like, ‘I’ll die in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by whatever! I’ll do the craft service!’ I’ll do anything for it. The fact that it’s happened in this way at this time just is actually unbelievable. I can’t believe it,” she continued.

JP 1 and 2 director Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment will executive produce the sequel that also stars Mahershala Ali and Rupert Friend, and has Gareth Edwards in Spielberg’s old chair.
