Fathom Events and GKIDS Announce Studio Ghibli Fest 2019 – Reveal 9 Films Coming to Theaters!

Fathom Events and GKIDS announced their third annual Studio Ghibli Fest. Studio Ghibli Fest 2019 will see nine of of the studios most celebrated and cherished titles return to theaters this year.

The films along with their official synopses can be seen below:

Howl’s Moving Castle

Howl’s Moving Castle: 15th Anniversary

Celebrate the 15th anniversary of this Academy Award®- nominated fantasy adventure for the whole family from acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki and the legendary Studio Ghibli, creators of Spirited Away.

Howl’s Moving Castle will come to theaters on Sunday, April 7; Monday, April 8; and Wednesday, April 10.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind: 35th Anniversary

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, written and directed by Academy Award®-winner Hayao Miyazaki, is an epic masterpiece of sweeping scope and grandeur that remains one of the most breathtaking and exhilarating animated films of all time.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind will come to theaters on Sunday, April 7; Monday, April 8; and Wednesday, April 10.

Kiki’s Delivery Service will be in theaters on Sunday, July 28; Monday, July 29; and Wednesday, July 31.

The Tale of The Princess Kaguya

A powerful and soaring epic, based on a legendary Japanese folktale, redefines animated storytelling from director and Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata. Experience Takahata’s final film that was nominated for an Academy Award® and hailed as a masterpiece by critics.

The Tale of The Princess Kaguya will be in theaters on Monday, December 16 and Wednesday, December 18.

Fathom Events notes that all weekday showings will begin at 7:00 p.m. and all Sunday showings will be at 12:55 p.m. All times are local.

Tickets for Studio Ghibli Fest 2019 go on sale on Thurdsy, March 7 at Fathom Events, Ghibli Fest, or your local box office. A complete list of all the showings will also be available on March 7th.
