Batman To Reunite With The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles In New Series!
Batman, Gotham’s Dark Knight, will team-up once again with New York’s Heroes in a Half-Shell in a brand new miniseries Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II from writer James Tynion IV and artist Freddie Williams II.
Donatello will open a portal to Gotham hoping to summon Batman in order to improve his fighting skills. However, Donatello ends up in Gotham with Bane stepping through the portal and arriving in New York City. Bane quickly sets up shop in New York City and sets out to unite the other bad guys in New York. Will Donnie be able to return to New York in time with Batman in tow to stop the destruction Bane will wreak?
Both DC and IDW are excited about the crossover.
“What DC and IDW started with Batman/TMNT in 2015 continues to spark interest with fans of these characters that have worldwide recognition,” said DC SVP Editorial Strategy & Administration, Hank Kanalz. “We can’t wait to see what James and Freddie deliver this time around.”
“The original crossover between Batman and the Turtles was met with such positive enthusiasm from the fans, that it was only a matter of time before their paths crossed again,” said IDW President and COO, Greg Goldstein. “Fans have themselves to thank for making this a reality, yet again, and we’re confident that we can deliver the goods to meet their expectations with our talented creative team returning for round two.”
Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II will see the first two issues debut in December before returning to a regularly scheduled monthly release. Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1 will hit comic book shelves on December 6 and the second issue will become available on December 20. The miniseries will be six issues in length.
Freddie Williams II will provide covers for this series again, but he will also be joined by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman who will provide variant covers.
Freddie Williams II pencils look as good as ever. Bane looks like an absolute monster. He’s definitely pumping the Venom. It will be interesting to see if he needs a supply in New York or if he is able to find a way to manufacture it there.
