DC Comics WonderCon 2016 Schedule
DC Comics will once again be at WonderCon where their programming will be highlighted by a Saturday morning press conference providing both the press and fans a first look at the lineup of writers and artists attached to the DC Universe: REBIRTH, their line-wide comic book title relaunch.
The press conference will begin at 9 a.m. PDT in Petree Hall C in the West Hall where it will be moderated by DC All Access co-host Tiffany Smith with appearances by DCE Co-Publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio and DCE Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. The press conference will also be streamed live on DC Entertainment’s YouTube channel and DC will be using the #REBIRTH on social media platforms.
Throughout the three-day convention from Friday, March 25th to Sunday, March 27th, DC Entertainment will be at booth #1602 where fans will be able to mingle with comic writers and artists as well as talent signings and swag giveaways celebrating DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. There will also be a number of collectible items such as a towering, working Bat Signal made entirely of LEGO bricks in an homage to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie. In addition there will be a Superman LEGO sculpture soaring above the booth.
DC will be hosting five different panels. The first panel, DC Entertainment – All Access, will take place on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in room 403AB. Vertigo Executive Editor Shelly Bond, Ming Doyle, Jason Fabok, JT Krul, Mitch Gerads, and Annie Wu will sit down and give new and veteran fans alike a tutorial on the essential stories, videos, and products that make up DCE. You will even get the latest from acclaimed contemporary artist Nathan Sawaya.
The second panel, DC Comics – Hanna Barbera, will feature DC Co-Publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee with artists Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti to give fans an exclusive taste of what’s in store as their favorite cartoons gets a new twist with Scooby Apocalypse, The Flintstones, Future Quest, and Wacky Raceland. This panel will take place on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Room 403AB.
The third panel, DC Collectibles, will give attendees a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most spectacular products coming from DC Collectibles. You will also get an early look at what’s about to hit shelves. The panel will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. Room 151.
The fourth panel, Art Masters: Drawing DC, will include Ming Doyle, Bernard Chang, Amanda Conner, and John Romita Jr. provide a unique look into their visual approach in shaping some of the best comics in the industry. This panel will take place on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Room 151.
The last panel Sunday Conversation with the Co-Publishers will feature Jim Lee and Dan DiDio giving an up-close look at the driving forces behind DC Comics, Vertigo, MAD, and much more on Sunday 12 p.m. in Room 151.
There will also be WonderCon exclusive variants of The Dark Knight III: The Master Race by Howard Porter, Jill Thompson, and Paul Pope. There will also be #50 issues of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. These covers feature Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot. These covers will be available at Graphitti Designs in the South Hall at Booth #1403.
