The Justice League Takes Over General Mills Cereal Boxes!
DC’s Justice League will be taking over General Mills cereal boxes!
DC has tapped Dave Johnson, Joe Quinones, Karl Kerscher, Amanda Conner, Neal Adams, and Tony Daniel to provide artwork on six Big G cereal boxes combining DC’s Justice League characters with General Mills cereal box characters.
You can find Dave Johnson’s artwork on Honey Nut Cheerios’ BuzzBee as he becomes Batman. Joe Quinones will turn Lucky Charms’ Lucky the Leprechaun into Green Lantern. Cocoa Puffs’ Sonny the Bird will become the Flash courtesy of Karl Kerscher. Amanda Conner will turn The Trix Rabbit into Superman. Multi Grain Cheerios will feature Wonder Woman courtesy of Neal Adams. Finally, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Family Size boxes will see Crazy Squares as Aquaman, Cyborg, and Green Lantern come to life from the mind of Tony Daniel.
If you collect all of the cereal boxes you will be able to put together a five-part Justice League mural on the back of each box. Ivan Reis provides the pencils, Joe Prado on the inks and Marcelo Maiolo provides the colors for the mural.
Along with this amazing art on the cereal boxes, each box will include one of four original, custom comic books featuring DC’s Justice League characters.
The 24-page comics will tell four original stories about Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman.
Tony Bedard and Jerry Ordway team up for Superman: Power Play, Batman: Dark Reflection will be written by Fabian Nicieza with art by Rick Leonardi, Ivan Cohen and June Brigman will bring to life Wonder Woman: Truth Hurts, and Tony Bedard will team up with TOm Grummett for Aquaman: Alien Justice.
“We’re excited to bring DC’s Justice League to a broad new audience on the cereal aisle with Big G,” stated Kelly Li, DC Custom Creative + Advertising. “This is just another example of how our team can bring top notch comic talent together to tell original stories with DC characters and organically incorporate top tier brands like General Mills.”
