A Madballs Comic is Coming

Madballs, the disgusting heads from the ’80s will be making their comic debut this week from Roar Comics.

In case you forgot what Madballs are, they were sculpted rubber balls sporting outrageously gross faces. Each had their own name and personalities. Everyone wanted them. They were one of the earliest modern collectible toy crazes. They combined the “gotta have it” impulse of trading cards with the fun of a toy you could hold and display. They also had the added benefit of earning your parents’ eternal disdain.

Roar Comics is bringing the Madballs back with a brand new comic series. The series will feature a collection of grossout gags froma curated lineup of today’s most cutting edge artists. Each issue will feature a main story penned by Brad McGinty with art from Brian Smith, but it will also feature backup stories from a range of creative talents. That talent includes Scarecrowoven, Gunsho, Dan Zettwoch, Jenny Zych, Sean Dove, Jesse Balmer, Jimmy Giegerich, and Matt Crabe. They have promised to cram as much degeneracy into the issues as they can.

The first of the four issue mini series is out this Wednesday. It features a backup story from Scarecrowoven and Dan Zettwoch.

If a Madballs comics isn’t enough for you Mondo has announced a brand new designer toy series. There is also a crazy-looking apparel collection from Jeremy Scott. Madballs are back!
