The New Generation Of The Marvel Universe Uprises!
Hydra has created a new order for the world, but not everyone agrees with it, certainly not Black Widow.
And she’s not going to sit around on the sidelines either. She’s got a dangerous plan, but in order to carry it out she is going to need help. Natasha Romanov will seek out the help of the young heroes of the Marvel Universe in order to fight back against the rising tide of Hydra in Secret Empire: Uprising.
Telling Natasha’s tale will be Derek Landy, the writer of the award-winning [easyazon_link identifier=”0061231150″ locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Skulduggery Pleasant[/easyazon_link] series, and artist J. Cassara.
“One of the overriding themes in SECRET EMPIRE: UPRISING is for the heroes not to make the same old mistakes all over again,” said Landy. “The Champions, for instance, are looking for non-violent ways to stop violent opponents, and that ethos spills over into Uprising. How do a bunch of super-powered kids, brimming with optimism, factor in the Black Widow’s dark agenda when confronted with Captain America’s role in the Hydra takeover of America? What are they willing to do? How far are they willing to go?”
Landy continued, “This will be the first time many of them have stood side by side with the heroes they grew up reading about. This momentous occasion, unfortunately, will be slightly soured by the fact that they’re squaring off against the hero of heroes, the inspiration of all inspirations — Captain America himself.”
Among the heroes Natasha will recruit will be Miles Morales, Ironheart, Wasp, Amadeus Cho, and Falcon. They will embark on a dark-ops mission that no one is prepared for. Black Widow must forge these young champions into an elite strike force and if she fails they will be taking on Hydra completely unprepared.
Secret Empire: Uprising hits comic book stands May 31st. It will feature a main cover by Meghan Hetrick and a variant cover by Rafael Albuquerque.
