Kentarou Miura’s Berserk Manga Back After 8-Month Break!
Kentarou Miura’s Berserk manga will return from its 8-month break in the ninth and tenth issues of Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine.
The new chapter of Berserk will debut on April 26th and will feature a colored opening page.
Berserk follows a powerful young warrior named Guts as he seeks to destroy his former friend turned demon, Griffith. The series features a medieval setting where Guts faces demons, corrupt lords, and more. After Griffith betrayed Guts and had him branded, he is haunted by demons and other nightmarish creatures who track him through the brand.
Miura has been working on the Berserk manga since 1989 and there have been 40 volumes compiled with the most recent debuting this past September. English translations are being handled by Dark Horse Comics and they recently released the 39th volume last July.
However, Dark Horse is working on reprinting the Berserk series. The first three volumes will be collected in an embossed hardcover edition in Miura’s preferred 7″ x 10″ format. They also plan to present the entire series in this format in a deluxe matching bookshelf collection.
