Deadpool 2 Taps John Wick Director David Leitch
Comic Book Resources is reporting that John Wick co-director David Leitch has been tapped to direct 20th Century Fox’s [easyazon_link identifier=”B01BHDEHKM” locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Deadpool[/easyazon_link] sequel after director Tim Miller left the project.
Leitch made his directorial debut with John Wick alongside Chad Stahelski. He’s currently directing his second film, The Coldest City which is based off of Antony Johnston and Sam Hart’s Oni Press graphic novel.
While his directing experience may be sparse he’s been in Hollywood for awhile working primary as a stuntman a second unit director.
He’s actually worked as second unit director for a number of comic book based films including The Wolverine, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Captain America: Civil War.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Leitch secured the job after meeting with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds.
Twentieth Century Fox is still looking for a director for the third installment of Deadpool which is already in the works.
Deadpool debuted this past February and broke records earning $782.6 million. It is the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.
Deadpool 2 is scheduled for a January 12, 2018 release date.
