Graphic Artist Showcases Natalie Portman as Thor in a Destroyed New Asgard

Graphic artist PhaseRunner debuted his latest poster mock-up for the recently announced Thor: Love and Thunder that will be directed Taika Waititi.

As you can see below, the poster showcases Natalie Portman as Jane Foster Thor dragging the head of Surtur in her wake as she leaves what appears to be the now devastated civilization of New Asgard.

Take a look.

And here’s a better look.

The image could tease what we might see in Taika Waititi’s upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film.

At the end of Thor: Ragnarok in order to defeat Hela, Loki and Thor, unleash Surtur. Surtur quickly awakens and begins giving a reckoning to Asgard. However, the city has been abandoned as most of the people have fled onto a refugee ship. Nevertheless, Hela fights to maintain her power source, but is easily dispatched with one swing of Surtur’s sword. It’s possible, Surtur is unsatisfied with just destroying the physical location of Asgard and might continue to seek out the Asgardian people in their new homeland of New Asgard on Earth. In fact, this image might hint that Surtur will succeed in finding and destroying New Asgard, but he will meet his demise at the hands of Jane Foster Thor and show that she is on the level of Thor or possibly even more powerful than him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). If you recall Thor defeated Surtur at the beginning of Thor: Ragnarok. However, Surtur was not at his full strength because he was not reunited with the Eternal Flame. Thus Jane Foster would show that she’s stronger than Hela and Thor if she’s able to defeat Surtur while he’s at full strength.
