Orion Pictures Announces Release Date for Hidden Camera Comedy Bad Trip Starring Eric Andre
Orion Pictures announced the release date for their hidden camera comedy, Bad Trip starring Eric Andre and Lil Rel Howery.
Orion Pictures President John Hegeman announced the film would debt in theaters on October 25, 2019.
Here’s the official description for the film:
“Bad Trip follows two best friends on a cross-country road trip full of hilarious, inventive pranks, pulling its real-life audience into the mayhem.”
Producer Jeff Tremaine released a joint statement with fellow producers David Bernad and Venom’s Ruben Fleischer describing the film as a successor to Borat and Bad Grandpa.
“Eric and Rel’s hilarious performances combined with spectacular, groundbreaking pranks will make Bad Trip the defining prank movie for a new generation. We’re incredibly proud to debut the next in line to Borat and Bad Grandpa.”
Eric Andre is the host of Cartoon Network’s The Eric Andre Show which parodies public access talk shows. He also appeared on ABC’s Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23. He also voices Luci in Netflix’s animated show Disenchantment. He’s slated to give voice to Azizi, one of the hyenas, in Disney’s upcoming The Lion King. Azizi is the new name for Ed from the original animated film.
Orion Pictures has a rather large slate of films debuting this year. Their next film to hit theaters will be Nicholas McCarthy’s supernatural horror thriller The Prodigy, which stars Taylor Schilling, Jackson Robert Scott, and Colm Feore. It debuts next month on February 8, 2019.
Prodigy will be followed up by the remake of the 1980s horror classic Child’s Play starring Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, and Gabriel Bateman. It debuts on June 21, 2019.
Orion Pictures is the studio behind RoboCop, Bill & Ted, Dances with Wolves, The Silence of the Lamb, and Platoon.
