‘Sleeping Dogs’ Taps Donnie Yen for Lead
Original Film has tapped Donnie Yen to headline [easyazon_link identifier=”B00MA5TSFQ” locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Sleeping Dogs[/easyazon_link], a film adaptation of Square Enix’s 2012 open world action-adventure game. Yen is a well-respected actor and martial artist best known for his portrayal of Ip Man.
Original Film, one of the companies behind the Fast and the Furious franchise, will be leading the production.
Sleeping Dogs takes place in Hong Kong. It will feature martial arts fighting, racing, boat chases, and lots and lots of shooting! It’s more than likely Yen will take on the role of Wei Shen. Shen is an undercover detective with a mission to take down one of the most powerful and dangerous criminal organizations, the Sun On Yee Triads.
Yen recently showcased his talents in [easyazon_link identifier=”B01N7FYJ7H” locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Rogue One: A Star Wars Story[/easyazon_link] as Chirrut Îmwe. He also starred in xXX: Return of Xander Cage as Xiang. Some of Yen’s previous works include Blade II and Highlander: Endgame.
