DC Entertainment recently launched their DC Universe streaming service and it’s quickly building its line-up of original shows. Check out what DC Universe shows they have most recently announced.
Swamp Thing – May 31
Coming May 31, Swamp Thing is a horror-slanted R-rated incarnation of the beloved story line with a Southern Gothic style. Crystal Reed of Teen Wolf plays Abby Arcane, Andy Bean of It: Chapter Two plays Alec Holland’s pre-transformation of Swamp Thing. It also stars Virginia Madsen of Designated Survivor and Dune. She plays plays Maria Sunderland, wife of Avery Sunderland played by Will Patton from Armageddon.”

Young Justice: Outsiders – July 2
Young Justice fans rejoiced when their beloved show was renewed after a six-year hiatus. The first half of the season premiered on January with 13 episodes.
The second half of the season is another 13 episodes. It will hit the DC Universe App on July 2.
Harley Quinn – October 2019
This R-rated, adult animation series follows Harley Quinn, played by Kaley Cuoco, as she tries to join the Legion of Doom. Other characters include Poison Ivy played by Lake Bell, the Joker played by Alan Tudyk, and Diedrich Bader as Batman.
Harley Quinn played by Margot Robbie was featured prominently in 2016’s Suicide Squad, where she became the breakout character. Robbie will reprise the character in the upcoming Birds of Prey film that will be in theaters in 2020.
The Harley Quinn animated series premieres in October 2019 on the DC Universe App.

Titans – Late 2019
While no word on the official season 2 date has been announced; it’s coming. John Fawcett was tapped to direct the first episode of season two, which follows Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), Raven (Teagan Croft), Starfire (Anna Diop), and Beast Boy (Ryan Potter) as they face off against Deathstroke, played by Essai Morales.
Joining the Titans in season two is Superboy, played by Joshua Orpin, and Bruce Wayne played by Game of Thrones’s Iain Glen.

Stargirl – Early 2020
This live-action action series focuses on Courtney Whitmore, a high school student who discovers her new stepfather is an ex-sidekick and finds a long-lost superhero’s cosmic staff. Courtney is played by Brec Bassinger of Nickelodeon’s Bella and the Bulldogs fame. The show also stars Luke Wilson as Stargirl’s stepfather Pat Dungan aka Stripe. Stripe was the former sidekick to Joel McHale’s Sylvester Pemberton aka Starman.
The show is written by Geoff Johns, who was the chief creative officer at DC Entertainment. He created and named the character after his sister who passed in 1996. Whitmore is known for her sunny disposition and kindness, and has become a hit with teenage comic fans.
The show is expected to premiere in early 2020. Catch it only on the DC Universe App.
Doom Patrol – 2020
Doom Patrol has been renewed for a season two. The show was expected to do so well that the spin-off of Titans was announced before Titans even premiered. Season one of Doom Patrol is ending May 24, 2019, so there are not a lot of details surrounding season two yet.
Season one focuses on the Doom Patrol after their mentor, Chief, played by Timothy Dalton, is kidnapped. Reprising their roles from the Titans’ episode are April Bowlby as Rita Farr, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele. Joining the cast are Diane Guerrero playing Kay Challis, Alan Tudyk as Mr. Nobody, Jovian Wade as Vic Stone, and Timothy Dalton.
