Marvel Announces New Animated Specials as Part of Marvel Rising
Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors just premiered on Disney Channel over the weekend and they’ve released a number of animated shorts in their Marvel Rising: Initiation series. Following their releases Marvel and Disney announced brand new animated Marvel Rising projects in Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts and Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron.
Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts

Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts will see Dove Cameron return to give voice to Ghost-Spider. She will be joined by BooBoo Stewart as Exile. Chasing Ghosts will be a 22-minute long special that sees Ghost-Spider teaming up with the Secret Warriors to take on the villains Sheath and Exile.
“I am so excited to return to the world of ‘Marvel Rising’ as Ghost-Spider!” said Dove Cameron. “It’s so rewarding to be part of a project that resonates with girls, and speaks to topics and subject matters we can all relate to.”
Chasing Ghosts will feature Quake, America Chavez, Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, Patriot, Gloria Grant, Lockjaw, Tippy-Toe, Captain Stacy, and Mary Jane Watson.
Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron
As for Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron, it will introduce Riri Williams aka Ironheart to the Marvel Rising world. Voiced by Sofia Wylie, Heart of Iron will be a 44-minute special that sees Riri Williams trying to adjust to college life and she’s having a hard go of it it because she is “younger than the other students.” However, Riri is expected to find her inner hero after Hala the Accuser destroys her school’s engineering lab and kidnaps her best friend. Inspired by Iron Man she sets off to rescue her friend and defeat Hala.
“I feel so honored to be a part of the Marvel family, but more importantly I’m excited to join a cast of diverse, strong intelligent women!” said Sofia Wylie. “I can’t wait for fans to see my character and to see a little of themselves in this powerful young woman.”
Heart of Iron will also feature Captain Marvel, Ghost-Spider, Inferno, Quake, America Chavez, Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, Patriot, Lockjaw, Tippy-Toe, Iron Man, and A.M.I.
“We believe girls and boys are going to be so thrilled to see what happens next for The Secret Warriors, and watch new heroes shake up the team,” said Cort Lane,Marvel’s Senior Vice President of Animation & Family Entertainment.
No release dates for these specials have been announced and it’s unclear if they will premiere on the Disney Channel like Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors.
