The Last Jedi Apologizers Can’t Handle Campaign to Remake The Film!
A Twitter account called “Remake The Last Jedi” announced they plan to remake The Last Jedi in order to save Star Wars.
They detailed they have a team of producers who are already planning to offer to cover the budget for the remake. They claim it’s not a joke and they are ready to have a conversation with Disney executives to remake the film.
Our team of producers is offering to cover the budget for a remake of The Last Jedi in order to save Star Wars. Share this and spread the word to let @RobertIger & @Disney know you want this! This isn’t a joke, we’re ready to have the convo now! #RemakeTheLastJedi #StarWars

In fact we want the writing team to be a diverse group of people that both loved and hated TLJ, so we will have an inbox for story treatment submissions and actually hire people onto the writing team from what we receive! So this is your chance to write a Star Wars film!
— Remake The Last Jedi (@RMTheLastJedi) June 20, 2018
The people in power think the fans who disliked TLJ are an irrelevant minority of basement dwellers who are just keyboard cowboys that will never actually effect real change. If you don’t want them to win then spread #RemakeTheLastJedi and let your voice be heard!

I think it’s safe to say it’s definitely a troll account, and boy did their epic trolling work wonders. Hollywood celebs and Star Wars creators fell for it hard including Seth Rogen and Chuck Wendig.
Rogen believed the whole thing was real and kept questioning them about their funding.
Yo I’m very confused as to what your goal is here. You literally want to spend 200 million dollars remaking the last Jedi? And someone is giving you that money? I don’t get it.
— Seth Rogen (@Sethrogen) June 21, 2018
How did you get investors without a script or stars or director or legal ability to make this movie? Those have been important elements in the past.
— Seth Rogen (@Sethrogen) June 21, 2018
I reread your other tweet. So from what I gather you don’t have investors, so Disney would just be entrusting you with the IP in the hopes you do it justice and are able to pay for it. Is that the plan? I’m so curious how this is supposed to work.
— Seth Rogen (@Sethrogen) June 21, 2018
Star Wars author Chuck Wendig’s responses are even funnier.
first question, if your team of producers is covering the budget, why do you need people to give you money
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
He appeared to catch on eventually that it appears to be a troll job.
third question, what
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
okay fifth question, you now have over six million dollars (!) pledged, but on june 15th you ran a poll which got 15 people
are those 15 people giving you around $400k each, and if you, can you introduce me to these people, I could use some cash, I’m a little light
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
seventh question, are you okay?
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
question nine
please prove that the best writing is done by committee
show your work
doodles are permissible, as long as they are suitably hilarious and/or of dongs pic.twitter.com/0UirjrTM5K
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
question eleven and hey thanks for being patient with these
you’re going to keep carrie fisher in the film, which is great, really an honor
but ummm
ahhhh
trying to ask this delicately but have you read the news? google-searched her recently? omg are you ghostbusters pic.twitter.com/6XDkdg5aLT
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
And then Chuck decided to get a little nasty and insult fans who do not like The Last Jedi and would actually like the film remade.
question thirteen
will luke be a cool incel
will he be an awesome hero-bro who has no time for the new Empire of Sithy Justice Warriors who have arisen to plague the galaxy
or maybe he’ll fight Soyth Lords
get it
soy
because, I dunno, soy
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
question fifteen
okay this is really more a comment than a question
but two words
just hear me out
two words
“BUFF YODA”
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
numero sixteen
let’s talk about these rad rewards
the personalized lightsaber, will that be like, the lightsaber hums my name, or will you just write my name on it in Sharpie like I’m in Starbucks or what pic.twitter.com/GIZbnDGt06
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
numero sixteen part two
where will the premiere be held
hollywood? volcano lair? skellig michael? steve’s mom’s basement? orrrr pic.twitter.com/B3GyQ99dGH
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
here it is, question seventeen, and we’re almost done here, thanks for taking the time
have you thought about, like, just
NOT remaking the movie
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
When actually told the account was a troll job, Wendig seemed baffled.
why
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
what
— Chuck Wendig (@ChuckWendig) June 21, 2018
Wendig and Rogen weren’t alone in getting hoodwinked. Plenty of other The Last Jedi apologizers fell for it.
Cover a Star Wars budget? By holding a kickstarter with your 81 followers? You really need to get over this. Such nonsense.
— ?Paul Berney? (@Paul_Berney) June 21, 2018
Ummmm WHY? #TheLastJedi was GREAT.#StarsWars
— Jenn The Librarian ? (@drianisoriana) June 21, 2018
Who are these “producers” and how to they expect to actually cover the budget?
— Griffin Newman (@GriffLightning) June 21, 2018
I have a better idea. How about you take that money and…talent…and make something new and original?
— Megan Reilly (@meganreilly) June 21, 2018
Why? Are people really that upset? Like why not wait until the next movie… maybe this one will have a little more meaning to you then when you see how it all ties in?
— let jon = null; (@J_Cron) June 21, 2018
Why don’t you take that 200 million and try to save some of these kids at our borders instead of a billion-dollar franchise that doesn’t need saving?
— FlimFlaum (@FlaumJosh) June 21, 2018
This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard
— Sean Finnegan (@shotbyfinnegan) June 21, 2018
I hope you got a great laugh at this absolutely brilliant troll job. I know I laughed just scrolling through all the responses!
In all seriousness, who wouldn’t want The Last Jedi remade and Star Wars saved?
Star Wars Episode IX is expected to hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
