Monolith Productions’ ‘Wonder Woman’ Game Reportedly Still In A Rough State After Three Years Of Development: “This Game’s Troubled”
Despite being in development for roughly three years, Monolith Productions’ upcoming Wonder Woman solo title is reportedly still in a very “troubled” place.
Word of the Themiscyrian Princesses’ troubled leap to the digital world was initially revealed to the public courtesy of Kinda Funny CEO Greg Miller during a ‘Summer Game Fest 2024 Predictions’ livestream hosted on June 3rd.

Asked by co-host Blessing Adeoye if he had any thoughts as to “what the next game coming from WB” was, Miller speculated that while he did not “have an answer for that off the top of my head,” he did predict that “you’re more likely to see a Suicide Squad [Kill the Justice League] reveal than you are a Wonder Woman reveal.”
Met with the further observation from Adeoye that, in light of WB’s apparent lack of a ‘show stopping reveal’ at this year’s SGF, he thought “it’s a good time to reshow Wonder Woman, show something, show signs of life,” Miller then declared, “You want the exclusive?”
Jokingly noting that he was giving them the “Jeff Grub information” – a reference to the GiantBomb journalist of the same name and his constant gaming industry scoops – the CEO explained, “In the past year, cuz I’ll leave it ambiguous, I have talked to an insider who was like, ‘This game’s troubled’.”
“That’s it. That’s all I say. So I don’t hold out hope that it’s in a place to show something. And I think it could come out – and what does troubled actually mean? Like, ‘Oh man, people are falling through level four” or some s–t like that? – but I think it’s not where they want it to be, and it’s not ready for prime time.”
Under development by the aforementioned Middle-Earth: Shadows of… duology studio Monolith Productions, Wonder Woman has received absolutely zero updates since a 30-second teaser trailer revealed its existence in December 2021.
However, while fans may be excited at the prospect of an actual quality video game outing starring the Amazing Amazon, they would do best to temper these expectations given the ideological leanings of its lead writer Tanya DePass.
Not only is DePass the director and founder of I Need Diverse Games, a Chicago-based non-profit described by local news outlet the Chicago Tribune as being “dedicated to helping underrepresented people gain visibility and access in the gaming industry, but she was also a vocal supporter of the attempted boycott against Hogwarts Legacy, declaring in 2022 that they refused to give the game any amount of attention due to her belief that source material creator J.K. Rowling was “trying to wipe out trans folks & abusing their platform to do so.”
Further, 2022 saw DePass publicly share her belief that any and all members of the GOP are not only equivalent to “the far-right and racists”, but that they, like those groups, both wanted “the ‘good old days back of only rich white men being in power, owning land (and likely slaves) and controlling everything” and believed “the rest of us can just wither and die long as they stay rich and powerful.”
“I said what I said, cause all signs point to their attempted return to those days,” she added. “Trying to stop student loan forgiveness and saying the quiet parts out loud is just a step in the plan.”
As of writing, Wonder Woman has yet to receive any official updates from either WB Games, Monolith Productions, or DePass herself.
