Dark Horse has landed up-and-coming Portland creators Matt Mair Lowery and Cassie Anderson for an original graphic novel, Lifeformed: Cleo Makes Contact.

This full-color graphic novel aimed at young adults features Cleo, a relatable, endearing young heroine.

Cleo finds herself caught up in an alien invasion that leaves her father dead. She must leave behind her old life and fight for the future of Earth.

Cleo won’t be alone in her fight. She will be aided by a shape-shifting rebel who poses as her father and aids in her search of both family and foe.

Lifeformed: Cleo Makes Contact will follow Cleo and her alien companion as the two bond, fight back, and ponder what it means to be human.

Lowery and Mair aim to explore the power of choice, courage, and unity.
