Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine after his stellar performance in Logan has been on the top of a number fans’ wish lists. Jackman has gone back and forth on whether or not he will return to the role over the past year or so. And leading up to Deadpool 2, many fans believed he would show up in the film after he filmed a promotional video with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.

In the promo video Jackman says, “I’m really, really busy doing stuff…. Yea. Don’t give him too much attention. That’s why I can’t be there.”

Many believed that the “stuff” Jackman was doing was actually shooting for Deadpool 2.

TMZ caught up with the Wolverine actor and asked him if he was going to be in Deadpool 2 or could potentially appear in future Deadpool movies.

Jackman responded, “Ship has sailed, Ryan. Sorry brother.”

I don’t think it gets any clearer than that.

Earlier this week, Jackman also joined Good Morning America where he announced his brand new coffee business. But Michael Strahan also asked him about potentially starring in Deadpool 2.

Jackman sent Ryan Reynolds another clear message, “Ryan, I love you man. I love Deadpool. I can’t wait to see the movie. You are one of my best friends. Blake, the fam, the whole thing. But, back it up a little. Play a little hard to get it. It’s too much. It’s not sexy. Sorry, bud.”

That’s two definitive “No’s” in a row. Do you think Ryan Reynolds will take the hint and stop trying to get Hugh Jackman to return as Wolverine in a potential Deadpool team-up?

I’m a little disappointed that we won’t get a Hugh Jackman Wolverine cameo, but as Michael Strahan points out, Wolverine did it make it onto the Deadpool 2 poster!
