Rise of the Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Microsoft Studios have released a new trailer “Aim Greater.” The trailer includes some of the world’s greatest explorers, Amelia Earhart, Charles Lindbergh, and you guessed it Lara Croft!
Lara Croft is climbing up the face of a mountain that just happens to be a complete sheet of ice. I’m not sure if that is altogether smart decision and I’m sure she is probably thinking that herself as the ice begins to track and she begins tumbling toward the base of the mountain. Luckily, it’s Lara Croft and she manages to secure herself as large chunks of ice come crashing down all around her.
The trailer ends with a teaser: Stop by E3 on June 15th to catch the World Premiere.
There are already a number of concept images released for the game detailing a wide number of locales from wintry forests to what appear to be South American mountain villages. The game looks to have an Uncharted feel about.
Rise of the Tomb Raider has been in development since August 1, 2013. The game will include a redesigned combat system allowing for more stealth and sneak attacks. They have added a weather system and day and night cycle that affect the way animals and humans behave.
The story follows Lara and Jonah Maiava as they explore Siberia in search of the ancient city of Kitezh which may hold the secret to immortality. Lara will have to deal with the Trinity organization as well as combat animals and the harsh environment to discover the truth.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released sometime during the Holidays of 2015 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
