‘Juror 13’ Graphic Novel Gets a Film Adaptation

D.J. Milky and artist Makoto Nakatsuka’s Juror 13 is getting a film adapatation from screenwriter Mike Ferris.

Juror 13 is a sci-fi stroy from TokyoPop about a young man who is unwillingly exposed to an experimental brain scanning technology and subsequently driven to madness and murder all while he ponders whether or not his world is unraveling or it is just a figment of his imagination.

Mike Ferris is a veteran in the sci-fi genre previously working on Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator 4: Salvation, and The Game.

The adaptation will be produced by Stu Levy the filmmaker and entrepreneur behind TokyoPop’s parent company Pop Media Group. China’s Artention Films will also be collaborating on the project.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that there is currently no filmmaker or talent attached to the project, but “Levy hopes to begin packaging this year with an aim to move into production in 2017.

The film is expected for a late 2017 or 2018 release in China and then a worldwide release.
