If Daredevil star Charle Cox has his way a major player from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will make her way to Hell’s Kitchen.
According to an interview by Sensacine shared on Instagram, Cox was asked who he would like to see brought into Daredevil’s path in the future. If it were up to him, he would love to bring one of MCU’s biggest female stars.

Charlie says he wants to have Scarlett Johansson in the Netflix shows since Daredevil and Black Widow have dated in the comics and Finn says "Nice!" They also agree that Mark Ruffalo is the best Hulk! My very rough translation of the question: What Marvel character do you want to have appear in the series? #marvel #netflix #defenders #thedefenders #daredevil #mattmurdock #charliecox #ironfist #dannyrand #finnjones #darefist #randock #jox #bromance
He stated that he would like to see Scarlett Johansson make an appearance as Black Widow in Daredevil. However, this is quite an unlikely event. The relationship between Marvel television shows and their movie counterparts is distant, to say the least. In most ways, especially on Netflix, they play a minor background role and are hardly referenced at all in the movies.
This has left some characters in an interesting position where relationships that fully developed in the comic books might not be able to translate onto screen. One of those is the one between Black Widow and Daredevil. The two romanced each other many times within the comic book world.
The likelihood of this happening anytime soon is non-existent for now. With the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movie and an unnamed fourth Avengers movie coming out over the next two years, it’s doubtful that Black Widow would detour to the other side of the tracks. Even if you don’t account for the problem of filming for each of them, there is also the fact that the shows and movies, for the most part, have a canyon between them.
Despite the odds, Cox is still holding out hope that it will one day play out on Netflix.
You can see Charlie Cox reprise his role as Daredevil in a few weeks as Marvel’s The Defenders premieres on Netflix on August 18th.
